\n“When is the shower? Is it this weekend? It would be really great if
\nit was. It couldn’t be in December. That would be too close to
\nChristmas. I thought we’d have one by now. Can we go away this
\nweekend? What about next week? Can I have a hint?”\n<\/div>\n

Whoa – slow down there honey. It’s on its way.
\nI know more than you about it (which is essentially nothing).
\nIt’s true. But settle down and just enjoy the ride (while
\nI enjoy the secret). The shower will be here before you
\nknow it. Now “it” is.<\/p>\n

The truth was that there wasn’t a shower – there were three. One was
\nfilled by my family and folks from church, one was attended by
\nthe wife’s family, and yet another was bursting with friends.
\nOne took place last Sunday. The last two concluded this weekend.
\nIt’s been a worldwind tour. It seems that every time we open
\na door, we are greeting by shouts of surprise.<\/p>\n

Presents are piled high in the baby’s room, while the wife
\nworks furiously hard to clean and fold all the cute little
\noutfits, towels, and blankets. Toys are collected on the
\ndresser, whose once bare drawers are now nearly full.
\nThe wife organizes, coos, and organizes some more.
\nLook at these cute little diapers.
\nI do the heavy lifting and building. Boy do I do the
\nbuilding; doesn’t anything come preassembled?<\/p>\n

I don’t know how I could possibly thank everyone enough.
\nThe wife is very loved. We have so many people
\nthat care for us, and by extension our coming child. All
\nthe faces we’ve seen lately attest to that.<\/p>\n

Just scant weeks ago, the baby’s room was empty and I could
\ncount all the baby stuff we had purchased on two hands.
\nNow, the baby’s room is painted, the dresser is built,
\nand the crib is not only up, but stuffed with Noah’s
\nArk sheets, comforters, and more. After a trip to
\nBabiesRUs<\/a>
\n for some returns and necessity purchases,
\nwe are nearly ready. It’s amazing how fast the
\ntransition was. Someone pressed the
\nfast forward button.<\/p>\n

Now we need to finish tending to our mountain of gifts.
